London, 16 January 2025 – Euromonitor International, a leading provider of global market research, is proud to announce that its flagship product, Passport, has been awarded Platinum in LibraryWorks’ 11th annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs). This prestigious accolade is based on feedback and scoring by librarians who actively use and rely on Passport, ensuring an unbiased evaluation of its features and performance.
The Modern Library Awards (MLAs) is a program designed to recognise elite products and services in the library market which can help library management personnel enhance the quality-of-experience for the library user and increase the performance of their library systems.
Passport is Euromonitor’s award-winning knowledge hub for forward thinkers. It is widely used and trusted by more than 800 universities, colleges and research centres worldwide, with 96% renewing their subscriptions each year. Passport offers global data and insights on markets, industries, companies, economies and consumers. It is an ideal starting point for international research, supporting teaching and research across many subjects.
Each judge rated Passport on key criteria, including quality, functionality, value, customer service, and overall satisfaction. Highlights from the scores include:
- Quality of Product: 9.18
- Customer Service Quality: 9.55
- Overall Satisfaction: 9.45
Euromonitor International's exceptional performance comes as no surprise," said Jenny Newman, publisher and MLA programme manager. "Since entering the market in 1972, they have consistently set the benchmark for excellence within the industry. Their commitment to data analytics, innovation and delivering actionable insights is a testament to their leadership and expertise."
With a database of more than 90,000 librarians at public, K-12, academic, and special libraries, Judges were asked a series of questions regarding the quality, functionality, value, customer service experience, and overall satisfaction with the product. Only customers with experience with these products/services in their facilities were permitted to judge the products/services, resulting in a truly unbiased score.
On receiving the award, Nick Achilleos, Global Director of Academics at Euromonitor International, said: "Delivering consistent, high-quality research and service to libraries across the globe is a cornerstone of our business model. We are thrilled to receive this award, which reflects the excellence of our people, products, and services, as acknowledged by user feedback. While we deeply value our long-standing subscribers who rely on our flagship Passport database, we are equally proud to welcome new subscribers. By granting their students and researchers access to our platform, they support teaching, boost research output and help students develop analytical skills that employers are looking for.”
